Associate General Counsel, Employment Law

As an Associate General Counsel for Employment at OKX, you support the company's global employment matters while reporting directly to the Global Head of Employment Legal. You work closely with the legal team and business leaders across HR, finance, and compliance, advising on recruiting, hiring, immigration, internal investigations, employee relations, and employment litigation. Based in our San Jose, California or New York office, you build best-in-class employment legal infrastructure for a leading crypto exchange and developer of OKX Wallet.

What you'll do

• Manage and handle legal HR, employment, and recruiting matters for OKX and its global affiliated entities, with primary focus on US and global operations
• Provide daily legal advice and guidance to HR, finance, compliance, and recruiting departments on all employment matters affecting the company
• Drive strategy and manage employment litigation and arbitration matters, including retaining and supervising outside counsel
• Advise on internal investigations and support HR and compliance by interviewing employees
• Work with the legal team and business partners on employee retention, payroll, executive compensation, benefits, performance management, immigration, and visa issues
• Build and uplevel employment legal processes and infrastructure, moving from ad hoc support toward a structured, best-in-class practice
• Partner directly with senior regional leadership to operationalize their strategic direction

What you bring

• Attorney licensed to practice law in the US
• 7+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team working on international employment matters
• Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage, multi-cultural environment
• Ability to effectively advise and build trust with business teams
• Ability to work in a high-functioning legal team and collaborate effectively
• Experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and with global legal teams
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical, actionable business advice for non-legal audiences
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating offer letters, employment agreements, incentive plans, and severance agreements
