Deputy General Counsel, Employment Law

As Deputy General Counsel for Employment at OKX, you will manage global employment matters reporting directly to the Global Head of Employment Legal. You will work closely with the Legal team and business leaders across HR, finance, and compliance. OKX is a leading crypto exchange and developer of OKX Wallet, serving millions of users and hundreds of institutions. The ideal candidate will be based in San Jose, California or New York.

What you'll do

• Manage and handle legal HR, employment, and recruiting matters for OKX and its global affiliated entities, with primary focus on US operations and global expansion
• Provide daily legal advice and guidance to HR, finance, compliance, and recruiting departments on all employment matters affecting the company
• Drive strategy for employment litigation and arbitration matters, retain outside counsel, and supervise their work
• Advise on internal investigations and employee interviews in collaboration with HR and compliance
• Work with the Legal team and business partners on employee retention, payroll, executive compensation, benefits, performance management, immigration, and visa issues
• Build and uplevel employment legal processes and infrastructure, moving from ad hoc support toward a structured, best-in-class practice
• Partner directly with senior regional leadership to operationalize their strategic direction

What you bring

• A current attorney's license to practice law in the US
• 9+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team working on international employment matters
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage, multi-cultural environment
• Proven ability to effectively advise business teams and build trust
• Experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and with global legal teams
• Skill in translating complex legal concepts into practical, actionable business advice for non-legal audiences
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating offer letters, employment agreements, incentive plans, and severance agreements
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, high-functioning legal team environment
