Associate General Counsel

As an Associate General Counsel at OKX, you will report to the European Associate General Counsel based in Malta and support OKX's European entities. You will work closely with the Global Legal team and business leaders throughout the company, providing legal advice across all coverage areas while focusing on matters affecting OKX's Malta-based operations.

What you'll do

• Support the business across all legal coverage areas, including complaints and litigation handling, product development, corporate governance, contract negotiation, regulatory matters, compliance legal support, institutional sales and partnerships, and marketing/advertising
• Analyze and advise on the legal risk of new and existing digital assets and manage the legal component of the new asset review process
• Manage civil or regulatory litigation matters and retain and supervise outside counsel as needed
• Manage on-going license obligations, communicate with regulators, draft and maintain internal policies, and collaborate to support the legal function
• Collaborate with product and business development teams to achieve company-wide projects and goals
• Assist with corporate governance and other corporate matters
• Manage legal requests from all areas of the business and advise on legal concepts and risk with an eye towards business leaders' strategic goals

What you bring

• A Doctor of Law (LL.D.) degree or Master in Advocacy and the warrant necessary to practice as an Advocate under Maltese law
• Residency in Malta
• 5+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably in financial services or crypto
• Experience advising on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology legal issues, or strong interest and knowledge in the field, and basic understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory landscape
• Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage, multi-cultural environment
• Ability to effectively advise and build trust with business teams
• Ability to navigate a rapidly-changing legal landscape and deal with legal ambiguity
• Ability to work in a high-functioning legal team and thrive in a collaborative environment
• Self-starter mentality, quick learning, high drive, proactivity, responsiveness, and precision
• Experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and with a global legal team
• Contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills
