Audit Senior (Blockchain - US Clients)

As an Audit Senior at BPM, you join the rapidly growing Blockchain and Digital Assets practice serving large crypto entities including exchanges, wallets, miners, trading platforms, and funds with activities in DeFi, mining, staking, lending, and NFTs. You lead day-to-day audit and advisory delivery for U.S.-based clients, supervise associate-level professionals, and help clients succeed in an evolving industry.

What you'll do

• Lead day-to-day execution and delivery of audit and advisory activities throughout the year
• Supervise associate-level professionals and delegate engagement responsibilities
• Communicate and resolve audit matters that arise during engagements, with support from the engagement manager
• Develop and maintain client relationships to drive client satisfaction
• Research, understand, and apply complex accounting concepts and auditing procedures relevant to blockchain and digital assets
• Draft financial statements and report audit findings in both verbal and written formats
• Develop, motivate, and mentor associates by providing training, regular feedback, and career guidance
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of U.S. accounting standards (GAAP), regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements
• Manage complex engagements involving multi-jurisdictional financial reporting, U.S. tax law, and international business practices
• Advise clients on U.S.-specific regulatory changes, risk management, and industry best practices
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address the unique challenges of servicing U.S.-based clients

What you bring

• BS or BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3+ years of audit experience with core assurance services, including audit planning, developing audit programs, performing testing, and preparing work papers
• Knowledge of internal accounting controls, control testing, professional standards, and regulations
• Familiarity with technical accounting matters common to the blockchain industry, such as token issuances, exchange and custodial accounting, DeFi, staking, lending, derivatives accounting, and crypto basis tracking
• Understanding of the blockchain and digital assets technology ecosystem, including smart contracts, block explorers, crypto tracking and accounting software, blockchain analysis, and RegTech tools
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct technical research
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word

Nice to have

• Licensed CPA designation
• MBA or other advanced degree
• Prior experience in blockchain and digital assets auditing

• Salary of $94,000-$115,000 per year (for candidates in Ontario or British Columbia, Canada; compensation varies by location and qualifications)
