Back-End Developer (NodeJS)

As a Back-End Developer at K-GROUP, you join KBG Blockchain Game Studios to build backend infrastructure for Runnow.io, a Move & Earn gamification platform on blockchain. You report directly to the PM and CTO, owning the design and development of server systems, APIs, and databases that power the decentralized gaming ecosystem.

What you'll do

• Participate in the product development life cycle from design through deployment
• Read and understand software specifications, user requirements, and game design documents
• Design server system architecture, source code structure, and database schemas
• Design, build, develop and optimize RESTful API systems
• Code features according to product requirements and operating needs
• Read, understand and integrate documentation from 3rd-party, partner, and supplier systems
• Build Docker containers, message queues, and CI/CD pipelines in cooperation with DevOps
• Deploy systems to AWS and Digital Ocean servers in cooperation with DevOps
• Implement web and app security measures, prevent system attacks and data loss
• Perform maintenance, error handling and troubleshooting as issues arise
• Continuously improve and enhance tooling, development processes and codebase
• Review, analyze, upgrade and optimize code during development cycles
• Coordinate with PM, BA, Front-End, and QC teams based on project scope
• Contribute ideas and suggestions for continuous product improvement to meet customer needs and user experience

What you bring

• 2-3 years of practical experience with NodeJS and TypeScript
• A degree in Programming, Computer Science or related field
• Strong knowledge of NodeJS, HTTP, WebSocket protocols
• Knowledge of system architecture and database design and analysis
• A solid understanding of Design Patterns, OOP, and JSON
• Hands-on experience with ExpressJS, socket.io, and Redis
• Proficiency in SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite) and NoSQL (MongoDB)
• Experience writing RESTful APIs
• Good understanding of Linux and Linux server operation and monitoring
• Experience deploying and managing servers on AWS EC2, AWS Lambda, and Digital Ocean
• Knowledge of Docker, Nginx, and CI/CD tools and practices
• Strong analytical skills and excellent problem-solving abilities

• Practical experience in online multiplayer game projects
• Experience deploying and managing server infrastructure
• Experience working with Blockchain Network related products
