Backend Engineer, Blockchain - Assistant Vice President

As a Backend Engineer (Assistant Vice President) on iCapital's Distributed Ledger Technology team, you will develop an industry-wide distributed ledger solution for the alternative investment ecosystem. Your work will enable advisors and their high-net-worth clients to access private markets investments through innovative technology. This highly visible role involves working closely with Engineering, Product, senior leadership, and industry partners to understand complex business problems, scope projects, and identify opportunities.

What you'll do

• Design and implement a private and permissioned distributed ledger using DAML or Canton and other open source blockchain frameworks
• Build and maintain a RESTful API using Python and FastAPI
• Provide technical leadership to motivate and guide team members and mentor junior engineers
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings and peer code reviews as part of the standard SDLC
• Stay current with the latest developments in blockchain technology and incorporate them into the iCapital ecosystem

What you bring

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise SaaS cloud-based solutions
• 2+ years of technical leadership and management experience
• Experience with DAML, Solidity, or other blockchain programming languages
• Experience with Python and FastAPI
• Demonstrated understanding of relational database concepts and modeling practices
• Experience building APIs for large scale applications using AWS

• Base salary range of $120,000 to $145,000
