BLOCKCHAIN DEVELOPER - CITI BANK

Citi Bank is seeking an experienced Blockchain Developer to design, develop, and deploy Web3 components and integrations for its Digital Asset Platform, including smart contracts, blockchain integrations, wallet solutions, and digital asset infrastructure. This is a full-time role based in New York, NY or Jersey City, NJ, requiring 10+ years of experience.

What you'll do

• Build and integrate Web3 components, smart contracts and blockchain protocols
• Develop backend services connecting to public and permissioned blockchain networks
• Build, test and audit secure and gas-efficient smart contracts
• Implement event-driven architectures for on-chain events and transaction lifecycle management
• Support digital asset custody, tokenization and DeFi/TradFi integrations
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on scalable and secure Web3 infrastructure
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation and Agile/Scrum delivery

What you bring

• 10+ years of professional experience
• Strong background in Web3 engineering and blockchain development
• Proficiency in Solidity smart contracts
• Experience with Ethereum, Hyperledger Besu, Corda or equivalent blockchain platforms
• Strong knowledge of Java/Spring or Node.js
• Experience with smart contract testing frameworks such as Hardhat, Foundry or Truffle
• Deep understanding of blockchain fundamentals: consensus, transactions, gas and wallet infrastructure
• Familiarity with token standards: ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155, ERC-3525
• Experience building event-driven architectures and asynchronous programming with Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of cryptography, digital signatures, hashing, PKI and key management
• Experience with Git, Jira, Jenkins and Helm
• Strong security mindset and knowledge of smart contract vulnerabilities
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, data structures and design patterns
• Ability to work effectively with global, distributed engineering teams
