Blockchain Developer

As a Blockchain Developer at Vinyl Equity, you'll shape the company's blockchain initiatives by building a proof-of-concept to emulate transfer-agency workflows. You'll work primarily on Ethereum, with flexibility to adapt to Solana or Canton based on your strengths, joining a collaborative team focused on blockchain and smart contracts and working closely with the tech lead, project manager, and product manager.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement a proof-of-concept for transfer-agency workflows on Ethereum, with the flexibility to adapt to Solana or Canton based on your expertise
• Collaborate closely with the tech lead, project manager, and product manager to gather requirements and plan milestones during onboarding
• Deliver key documentation by day 30, including requirements gathering and milestone planning, to ensure alignment and clarity
• Provide essential security deliverables by day 45, such as a threat model and testing plan, adhering to industry-standard security practices
• Complete the initial proof-of-concept by day 60 and deploy contracts on both testnet and mainnet by day 90, ensuring all security standards are met

What you bring

• Minimum 5 years of professional software or blockchain development experience
• Proficiency in Solidity and hands-on experience with Ethereum-based smart contract development
• Demonstrated experience building decentralized applications and DeFi apps, with a strong understanding of blockchain technology
• Ability to gather requirements, plan milestones, and avoid project drift effectively
• A security-first mindset for smart contracts, not a post-hoc checklist: you've read post-mortems of on-chain exploits and internalized the lessons
• A practice of writing tests alongside contracts and pushing back when deadlines threaten test coverage
• The ability to scope aggressively on a greenfield proof-of-concept, preferring to ship a smaller, audited contract rather than a larger unaudited one
• Openness to learning new technologies and adapting to evolving project needs
• Willingness to relocate to Mangaluru, India for this in-office role

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Solana or Canton
• Experience with security tooling and practices, including threat modeling, audits, and systematic testing
• Previous experience working in a collaborative team environment focused on blockchain and smart contracts
