Chief Compliance Officer (UAE)

As Chief Compliance Officer at coins.ph, you lead the compliance agenda for the company's expansion into the UAE. Coins is the most established crypto brand in the Philippines with over 18 million users and is fully regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), holding both Virtual Currency and Electronic Money Issuer licenses. You will establish the compliance function in the UAE, work as the primary interface with the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), and build the scalable controls needed to support growth.

What you'll do

• Own the compliance agenda end-to-end, including readiness for VARA expectations, ongoing supervision, and scalable controls as volumes grow
• Operate as VARA's day-to-day interface, maintaining the CEO's credibility and judgement during regulator engagement
• Establish credibility with VARA early, leveraging any existing UAE regulatory relationships to de-risk the setup
• Act as connective tissue between Dubai market realities and coins.ph leadership, keeping the build aligned to international expansion priorities
• Work hands-on with a builder mentality, comfortable with ambiguity and able to create momentum from a standing start
• Move fast while maintaining regulatory credibility and control integrity
• Collaborate cross-functionally with relevant teams to carry out implementations that improve customer experience

What you bring

• 5+ years of senior compliance leadership experience in regulated financial services environments aligned to VASP, fintech, or payments
• Hands-on exposure to regulated financial services environments
• UAE residency
• Comfort operating as the primary regulator interface with the confidence and judgement to build credibility early and maintain it as volumes scale
• Ability to be accepted as a Responsible Individual under UAE regulations
