Director, Strategic Business Development, Digital Assets

As Director, Strategic Business Development, Digital Assets at Mastercard, you will play a key role in supporting the company's growth in crypto, Web3, and digital assets. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Strategic Business Development, you'll identify, structure, and manage partnerships that expand Mastercard's footprint in this evolving space. You'll collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional partners to execute new opportunities, strengthen relationships with key ecosystem players, and bring Mastercard's digital asset strategy to life through well-structured deals and go-to-market execution.

What you'll do

• Drive global business development in the digital assets and blockchain space
• Manage all global account management tasks in line with Mastercard best practices, deliver on strategy, achieve commercial targets, and serve as a strategic partner to crypto and blockchain native companies worldwide
• Drive relevant product innovation based on customer feedback
• Embed Mastercard deeper in the global crypto and blockchain industry by establishing relationships with exchanges, wallets, layer 1 protocols, onramps and similar relevant entities
• Onboard and train new team members in business development and account management capabilities, help them grow into role, and manage accounts in line with Mastercard standards
• Deliver on Mastercard acquiring and issuing revenue targets and product targets driven by the digital assets and blockchain segment
• Partner with key global, regional and market-based stakeholders such as Finance, Franchise, LFI, Marketing, Communications and regional and market-based teams to drive business and help Mastercard proactively shape the future of the digital economy
• Review and expand target segments based on new opportunities and product launches

What you bring

• Experience in business development and account management
• Relevant experience in the blockchain and crypto ecosystem with an extensive network of contacts
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous and highly innovative environment
• Skill in building close partnerships with clients, uncovering their needs, and recommending complementary products or services
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate vision and roadmap effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders
• Experience presenting to and communicating with executive management
• Strong work ethic with high sense of urgency and ownership
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage ambiguity and move initiatives forward
• Experience managing escalations
• Ability to travel internationally
• Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Technology, or Engineering
