As a Financial Operations Analyst at Orbital, you reconcile client and operations accounts across crypto and fiat daily, validating revenues and profits before they are swept or reported. This role is fundamental to safeguarding client funds and understanding the company's liquidity position. You will work at the intersection of blockchain and traditional financial services, ensuring money moves correctly through the business and operationalising finance processes as the company evolves.

What you'll do

  • Own and process daily client-account and operational-account reconciliations across various crypto and non-crypto currencies, investigating and resolving all exceptions
  • Provide daily consolidated reconciled cash balances for liquidity management
  • Reconcile daily and weekly revenue prior to sweeping profits to operational accounts
  • Maintain clear records of reconciliation issues and associated action logs
  • Validate internally reported financials by reconciling to all supporting records
  • Understand the flows of funds in the business and their impacts on reconciliations
  • Ensure all documentation relating to reconciliation processes is fully instructional and kept up to date
  • Support leadership with operationalising new finance processes resulting from operational, technological, or business changes
  • Understand how crypto providers report at a transactional level and identify and communicate issues as they arise
  • Identify and champion process improvements to increase efficiency, simplicity, and transparency
  • Compile and maintain ad-hoc financial information for Finance leadership
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Ensure compliance with the financial controls implemented in the company

What you bring

  • A BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, reconciliation, or transaction processing, preferably within banking, fintech, or payments
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial transactions, settlement processes, and reconciliation procedures
  • Proven experience managing recurring, cross-functional reconciliations to deadline: investigating unmatched transactions, identifying root causes, working with Finance, Operations and other teams to resolve outstanding items, maintaining clear supporting documentation, and promptly escalating unresolved or unusual discrepancies
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Working knowledge of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency transactions, and digital asset transfers, with the ability to investigate discrepancies between blockchain records and internal accounting or operational systems
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet functions such as XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF statements, pivot tables, and data filtering, with experience handling large datasets and data cleansing
  • Familiarity with Metabase or similar business intelligence tools to navigate dashboards, run or modify queries, and analyse reconciliation results
  • Familiarity with AI productivity tools such as Claude to support data analysis
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders across international teams

Nice to have

  • Experience with blockchain explorers, transaction hashes (TXIDs), wallet addresses, network fees, and on-chain transaction confirmations
  • Ability to work independently, stay readily accessible to the team, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Demonstrated authority over the process and decision-making capability
  • Ability to work well with the team and stakeholders and persuade effectively
  • Proactive and enthusiastic approach, with a love of data, technology, and analytics, and a desire to stay on top of new technologies and share best practice with the wider team

What we offer

  • Salary of 600,000 to 800,000 Philippine pesos per year, depending on experience
