Frontend Desktop Engineer (Internal)

As a Frontend Desktop Engineer at Tether, you develop and maintain Keet Desktop, a cross-platform peer-to-peer communications application built with React and running on the Pear runtime. You work on everything from UI/UX implementation to performance optimization, shaping the future of decentralized communication.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain Keet Desktop, a cross-platform P2P communications application
• Implement UI/UX features and optimize application performance
• Write modular, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Debug and troubleshoot complex frontend applications

What you bring

• Proven experience with React or Preact and modern JavaScript or TypeScript in production-scale applications
• Strong competency in state management libraries such as Redux, Redux Toolkit, or Zustand
• Ability to write modular, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Solid skills in testing and debugging complex frontend applications
• Deep interest in or experience with peer-to-peer technologies or distributed systems
• Comfort working in a remote, globally distributed team with good communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience with desktop application development using Electron, Tauri, or similar runtimes
• Familiarity with video and audio APIs such as WebRTC and media streams for real-time communication
• Demonstrated ability to optimize UI performance in rendering and memory management
• Experience building cross-platform applications for macOS, Windows, and Linux
• Past contributions to open-source projects, especially in peer-to-peer or decentralized technology
