As the Lead Product Designer for Pooling at coins.ph, you own the design vision and product strategy for payment products in the Philippines' most established crypto brand, trusted by over 18 million users. You shape user-centered, compliant experiences across mobile and web while leading and mentoring a design team. This role combines strategic product thinking, hands-on design execution, and cross-functional leadership in a regulated fintech environment.

What you'll do

  • Define and own the design vision and product strategy for payment products, balancing business goals, user needs, and compliance requirements (BSP, AML, KYC).
  • Build and prioritize a design and product roadmap using structured frameworks such as RICE or ICE to weigh impact against effort.
  • Act as a de facto product manager for your area: translate research and data into structured feature proposals, PRDs, and specs that engineering and stakeholders can act on.
  • Proactively identify, pitch, and champion new features and improvements based on your own use of the app, competitive analysis, and user feedback.
  • Drive end-to-end product design from discovery, journey mapping, and prototyping to detailed UI specifications.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and apply data-driven insights to improve product flows and reduce friction.
  • Create and maintain design systems and patterns for consistency across app and web channels.
  • Define success metrics and KPIs for design and product initiatives such as activation, feature adoption, NPS, task completion, and retention.
  • Run experiments including A/B tests and usability benchmarks to validate design and product decisions using analytics tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Google Analytics.
  • Own the backlog and prioritization conversations jointly with product management and engineering leads.
  • Establish UX/UI design best practices and design-quality standards across the organization.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product designers and UX researchers.
  • Partner with product managers and engineers to define product requirements and technical feasibility.
  • Work closely with risk, compliance, and legal teams to ensure designs adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with marketing and customer experience teams to ensure brand-consistent experiences.
  • Stay ahead of payment UX trends in the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and globally, such as tap-to-pay, open finance, and e-wallet interoperability.
  • Explore opportunities to integrate emerging technologies such as QR Ph, NFC, merchant payment solutions, and blockchain into the payment journey.
  • Regularly use the Coins app as a customer would and bring observations and improvement ideas to the team.

What you bring

  • A Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product design or a hybrid product design and product management role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or people-management capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a product roadmap end to end, including prioritization, spec writing, success metrics, and post-launch measurement, not only visual or UX design execution.
  • A proven track record designing scalable payment systems, e-wallets, or financial services platforms.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating UX strategy, UI execution, and measurable impact on business or product metrics.
  • Deep understanding of the Philippine digital payment landscape and regulatory framework.
  • Experience working in agile product development environments, including backlog grooming and sprint planning.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD, and familiarity with product analytics tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Google Analytics.
  • A track record of proactively identifying and championing product improvements or new features, ideally backed by concrete examples.
  • High attention to detail, strong written communication for specs and PRDs, and a collaborative, low-ego approach to working with cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to coordinate with international partners and stakeholders across time zones.

Nice to have

  • Background in payments or fintech.
  • Experience designing for mass-market, mobile-first audiences in emerging markets.
  • Personal, regular use of the Coins app or similar e-wallet or fintech apps.

What we offer

  • The opportunity to work cross-functionally with other teams on implementations that improve and create an impact on customer experience.
  • A role in a fast-growing organization with the vision to expand beyond APAC, providing opportunities for career advancement.
  • A culture that welcomes new ideas backed by data to create impact.
