Lead Product Manager, DeFi

As Lead Product Manager, DeFi at Bitpanda, you will build the company's DeFi ecosystem from the ground up on Vision Chain, our own OP Stack L2 blockchain. You'll create the world's premier Euro-denominated DeFi ecosystem, starting with crypto-backed borrowing and lending in the Bitpanda app, then expanding to more sophisticated products leveraging tokenized commodities, securities, funds, and structured products. You'll decide which protocols and partners come to Vision Chain, work with smart contract engineers and Bitpanda's Legal, Compliance and Risk teams, and report to the Head of Web3 Product.

What you'll do

• Design and run the lending markets by setting loan-to-value and liquidation thresholds, interest rate curves, caps, and oracles, while owning monitoring and incident playbooks.
• Bring liquidity and users to permissioned markets and assets by setting supply targets, sourcing euro liquidity from stablecoin issuers and institutional lenders, and enabling verified customers to access these markets.
• Ensure the right DeFi infrastructure is in place for permissioned tokenized assets, including DEX liquidity, liquidators, oracles and other market dependencies.
• Shape what customers see, sign and own in the Bitpanda app, including how liquidation and risk are explained, and measure real use through borrower retention, bad debt, and revenue rather than total value locked alone.
• Recommend which protocols and partners come to Vision Chain with business cases, and partner with Legal, Compliance and Risk teams on EU consumer credit rules and MiCA from day one.

What you bring

• 6+ years of Product Management experience, with at least 3+ years focused specifically on building and scaling DeFi or crypto products.
• Deep knowledge of lending markets: collateral and liquidation mechanics, interest rate models, oracles and their failure modes, curation and bad debt, with the ability to read Solidity smart contract code and question engineers about EVM details.
• Demonstrated experience bringing DeFi applications into regulated consumer products and successfully bridging decentralized and centralized finance.
• Ability to lead through influence, build clear business cases, and write excellent documentation in English, with strong working knowledge of EU crypto regulations such as MiCA to partner effectively with Risk, Legal and Compliance teams.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience scaling onchain ecosystem liquidity from scratch.
• Knowledge of and/or work experience in traditional financial markets.
