Partner 6, Executive Assistant, San Francisco

As an Executive Assistant at a16z crypto, you will support top-level General Partners in the New Media group. You'll manage demanding schedules, coordinate meetings and travel, and serve as a trusted first point of contact for founders, partners, and internal teams. This role goes beyond calendaring-you'll help own cross-functional projects and contribute to the health and energy of the team.

What you'll do

• Build and cultivate long-term relationships with founders, creators, guests, and partners
• Manage and maintain multiple executive calendars, prioritizing appropriately and using sound judgment to solve complex scheduling and meeting planning needs
• Handle highly confidential information and documents with discretion and confidentiality
• Own team culture projects such as team gatherings, recognition moments, and team offsites, from idea through execution
• Coordinate Board meetings, Executive off-sites, and ongoing staff meetings, including attendee communications, venue management, audio/video setup, catering, and program material preparation
• Proactively manage communication and respond to urgent inquiries from internal and external stakeholders on the executives' behalf
• Process and track expenses in a timely manner for the executives
• Organize and compile data to facilitate executive presentations
• Track and drive completion of key deliverables, proactively following up on outstanding items
• Provide innovative and creative methods for continued improvements to administrative processes as the company scales

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional experience supporting senior-level executives in a fast-paced environment; we welcome candidates from nontraditional EA backgrounds
• Expert-level scheduling and calendar management skills, including managing complex, shifting, multi-party schedules
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, able to work with individuals at all levels of the organization in a matrixed environment
• Proactive, positive, and personable with excellent communication skills and a "can do" attitude, willing to take initiative with confidence
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver quality work to deadlines
• Discretion, diplomacy, and excellent judgment; high degree of integrity when dealing with confidential and sensitive information
• Exceptional attention to detail and prioritization skills
• Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace, Zoom, and Slack, plus comfort picking up new tools quickly
• Ability to work independently and in a hybrid environment
• Low ego, high empathy, and capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams

What we offer

• Salary range of $149,000 to $165,000, with actual starting pay varying based on experience, skills, and scope
