As a Prediction Markets Operations Intern at Gemini, you will perform time-sensitive operational work that turns real-world events into clearly defined event contracts. You join the Prediction Markets Operations team, which supports markets across their full lifecycle, from initial idea through configuration, launch, live operations, and accurate resolution. This semester-long internship runs January to April 2027, with 3 days per week in-person at our New York City office.

What you'll do

  • Research potential prediction-market contract ideas and help turn ideas into precise, objective binary questions.
  • Identify reliable and authoritative public resolution sources and flag ambiguity, potentially prohibited subject matter, or questions requiring Compliance or Legal review.
  • Prepare contract specifications, including outcomes, dates, descriptions, tickers, resolution criteria, and other listing details.
  • Create and configure event contracts in the Contract Management System, or assist with structured CSV uploads, under established procedures.
  • Support research and documentation related to product requirements and filings.
  • Perform pre-launch and post-upload quality assurance, verifying contract names, outcomes, ordering, start times, expiration times, resolution criteria, and designated sources.
  • Review dates and times carefully, including UTC-based fields, and compare contracts with relevant external prediction markets when appropriate to identify unintended differences.
  • Confirm that event and social images are present and appropriate, and upload or update approved images and display settings.
  • Coordinate launch information with internal stakeholders and liquidity partners.
  • Identify discrepancies and escalate issues before launch.
  • Review, triage, and investigate prediction-market support tickets, gathering relevant facts and routing issues appropriately.
  • Monitor live markets for incorrect content, timing discrepancies, operational issues, or unexpected behavior.
  • Follow established incident-escalation procedures when urgent technical or operational issues arise.
  • Maintain accurate trackers, checklists, SOPs, and internal documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve repetitive workflows and reduce manual work.
  • Monitor contracts approaching expiration or awaiting resolution and research outcomes using the contract's designated resolution source.
  • Prepare a proposed outcome, source links, and a concise rationale for internal review, and double-check resolution information against authoritative sources.
  • Escalate unclear, conflicting, delayed, or incomplete source information rather than guessing.
  • Execute approved market settlements in the Contract Management System after required training, review, and approval, following established procedures and supervision with access controls and approval requirements.
  • Document completed resolutions according to team procedures.
  • Participate in a scheduled rotation for brief evening or weekend monitoring, primarily identifying and escalating issues to the appropriate full-time team.

What you bring

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Associate's, or Master's degree.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written communication.
  • Ability to research information and distinguish authoritative sources from unreliable ones.
  • Sound judgment and a willingness to escalate uncertainty.
  • Comfort with detailed, repeatable, process-driven tasks.
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive work without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Dependability and follow-through.
  • Basic proficiency with spreadsheets and web-based business tools.
  • Ability to work in-office.
  • Availability for the scheduled, lightweight evening or weekend monitoring rotation.

Nice to have

  • Internship, academic, or project experience in operations, customer support, research, quality assurance, content operations, marketplaces, fintech, or another detail-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with prediction markets, financial markets, sports, politics, economics, or major current events.
  • Experience with ticketing platforms, content-management systems, administrative tools, dashboards, or structured data entry.
  • Interest in regulated products or operational risk.
  • Experience creating or maintaining process documentation.
  • Comfort learning unfamiliar internal tools quickly.

What we offer

  • Hourly pay rate of $40 per hour in the State of New York.
  • Hybrid work approach at our New York City hub office, balancing in-person collaboration with remote work flexibility.
