As a Senior Rust Engineer on Keyrock's Capital Markets team, you will take ownership of high-impact trading infrastructure, set technical direction in your domain, and drive continuous improvement in system performance, reliability, and operability. You join a highly-profitable division within Keyrock, where you will make a senior individual-contributor impact while collaborating with a global, fully-remote team. This role is open to candidates located in European time zones.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and optimise low-latency, mission-critical trading systems
  • Own key trading stack components end-to-end from architecture through to production operation
  • Collaborate closely with quants, traders, and engineers to deliver solutions that improve trading performance and resilience
  • Maintain and evolve trading infrastructure with a focus on performance, stability, observability, and operational excellence
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues across exchange connectivity, execution, and market data handling
  • Drive engineering standards through technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring
  • Leverage AI-assisted workflows, drive automation of operational tasks, and help evolve the team's agentic tooling
  • Contribute to functional, component, and production-readiness testing for critical trading components

What you bring

  • Production-grade Rust experience building high-performance, concurrent systems, with proficiency in Tokio
  • Hands-on experience in systematic trading environments such as HFT, Market Making, or Quantitative Trading, with solid understanding of execution, market data, and operational risk
  • Strong AWS and Linux expertise, including cloud infrastructure trade-offs for latency-sensitive workloads, shell scripting, debugging, and production troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for strategy development, automation, and operational tooling
  • Deep familiarity with trading system protocols such as FIX, REST, and WebSocket, exchange connectivity, and market data feeds
  • Solid grasp of low-latency networking including TCP/UDP, packet and latency path analysis, dedicated network infrastructure, and kernel bypass techniques such as DPDK
  • Familiarity with agentic engineering tools and concepts including LLMs, MCP APIs, AI-First IDEs such as Cursor and Claude Code, harness engineering, and workflow automation
  • Ability to make sound architectural decisions, articulate trade-offs clearly, and guide implementation across complex systems
  • Ownership and reliability, with the ability to take full responsibility for your work, deliver high-quality service, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments
  • Initiative and problem-solving mindset, approaching challenges with an entrepreneurial approach and making sound, independent judgments
  • Operational diligence, responding strategically to technical and operational challenges while ensuring robust and reliable trading infrastructure
  • Technical leadership skills to influence system design, raise engineering standards, mentor other engineers, and guide pragmatic technical decisions
  • Curiosity and growth mindset, continuously seeking to improve your skills and stay ahead of industry trends
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach within a fully-remote global team

What we offer

  • A competitive salary package
  • Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely
  • Autonomy and the freedom to create your own entrepreneurial experience as part of a team in search of excellence
