Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at OKX, you spearhead infrastructure implementations that drive stability and scalability across a leading crypto exchange serving millions of users and hundreds of large institutions. You own the tools and platforms that enable development teams to focus on feature work rather than managing distributed system complexities, ensuring early detection of production failures and stellar customer experience.

What you'll do

• Maintain and configure AWS products and services, and research, architect and implement solutions based on AWS infrastructure
• Manage daily AWS cloud environment operations across multiple regions and deployments
• Support the deployment, maintenance and scaling of big data and machine learning platforms such as Databricks, AWS SageMaker, and Aliyun DSW to enable data processing and model training workflows
• Own the Databricks platform on AWS end to end, including workspace provisioning, account and workspace configuration, cluster policies, instance pools, and SQL warehouses managed as code via the Databricks Terraform provider
• Monitor and optimize Databricks cost and performance through cluster sizing, autoscaling, Photon and serverless adoption, DBU usage tracking via system tables, and job reliability tuning
• Automate provisioning, scaling and configuration of infrastructure resources using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot and resolve production database issues during incidents, working alongside the team
• Monitor company services and respond to alerts promptly to maintain service stability and uptime
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new features
• Design, build and maintain internal platforms and tooling to improve operational efficiency and support unified multi-cloud management across AWS, Alibaba Cloud and other providers

What you bring

• A bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related domain, with over 6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, DBA or related roles
• Proficiency in AWS distributed management, large-scale clustering, fault tolerance, backup, load balancing and related technologies
• Deep understanding of high availability architecture, capacity planning and rich experience handling complex problems
• Solid Linux platform operation, maintenance and debugging capabilities, including troubleshooting, configuration tuning and performance analysis
• Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration and management
• Familiarity with AWS product features and core products, with rich practical experience deploying and tuning EC2, EKS, VPC and big data products
• Experience with microservices architecture, including deployment, scaling and maintenance
• Experience monitoring, maintaining and managing large-scale AWS servers and containers
• Hands-on experience with big data and machine learning platforms such as Databricks, AWS SageMaker or Aliyun DSW, including supporting data pipelines, notebook environments and model training/deployment workflows
• Familiarity with deployment, configuration and maintenance of Nginx, Kong and similar software
• Proficiency in Python, Go or shell scripting for infrastructure automation
• Strong engineering skills with demonstrated proficiency in at least one infrastructure sub-area such as public cloud networking, SRE, DevOps or cloud-native technologies
• Excellent business analysis, system architecture and problem-solving abilities, with strong self-drive

Nice to have

• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, and NoSQL or big-data storage systems such as Redis, MongoDB or HBase
• Experience with internal developer platforms and proficiency in AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Codex to improve engineering efficiency
• Working knowledge of Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin
• Familiarity with operation and maintenance management of Alibaba Cloud, Google Cloud, Microsoft Cloud and other cloud providers
