Software Engineer - HFT / Performance Team

As a Software Engineer on Wincent's Performance team, you optimize the full trading system-from hardware to software-for a next-generation trading platform that executes orders seamlessly across 10+ exchanges. You reduce latency, improve reliability, and make the entire trading pipeline faster and more efficient, working on everything from kernel-level debugging and network stack tuning to market data feed handling and real-time system metrics.

What you'll do

• Optimize trading system performance by improving latency, reliability, and efficiency across the full trading stack (hardware, network, and software)
• Analyze and tune low-level systems through kernel-level debugging, network stack optimization, and hardware benchmarking
• Monitor and profile live trading systems by collecting and analyzing real-time performance data, creating monitoring tools, and identifying bottlenecks
• Prototype and implement performance improvements by testing new ideas, optimizing configurations, and deploying enhancements in live trading environments
• Collaborate across technical teams (trading, infrastructure, and software engineers) to ensure consistent, measurable system improvements

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience with low-latency hardware and software
• Strong background in Kernel Linux, Network Engineering, and deep network knowledge
• Understanding of market data feeds, order books, and exchange-level protocols
• Experience with performance testing tools and scripting

• Competitive base salary of 80,000 € to 150,000 € per year, with potential for higher offers based on your expertise and seniority
