Senior Python Engineer (Crypto)

As a Senior Python Engineer at EPAM Systems, you design and build secure, scalable systems that power cryptocurrency trading, custody, and settlement. You work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions in the crypto space. This role supports remote work from within Ukraine.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to develop features and new products
• Develop solutions according to specified business requirements and define technical specifications
• Design and implement secure integrations with blockchain networks, crypto exchanges, and digital wallets
• Contribute to the development of systems supporting cryptocurrency trading, custody, and settlement
• Implement unit and integration tests to ensure quality and security
• Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, and extensibility
• Participate in code reviews, identifying anti-patterns and refactoring opportunities
• Demonstrate and present implementation to team leaders and the CTO

What you bring

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in software development and coding in Python
• Excellent knowledge of software and application design, architecture, and a technical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Understanding of software quality assurance principles and SDLC processes
• Background in service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices development, and containerized applications
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar messaging systems
• Experience building WebSockets
• Skills in Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Helm
• Competency in version control and continuous integration using Git and Jenkins
• Understanding of web security standards and best practices
• Strong knowledge of blockchain fundamentals, cryptography, and digital assets
• Hands-on experience integrating with crypto APIs (REST and WebSocket), smart contracts, or blockchain SDKs
• English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher

Nice to have

• Knowledge of PHP
• Exposure to DeFi protocols
• Familiarity with Web3 frameworks
• Experience with digital custody systems
