Vice President, DeFi Product Engineer

As a Vice President of DeFi Product Engineer at Fidelity Digital Asset Management, you architect and deploy advanced blockchain solutions and smart contracts that support Research, Trading, Risk, and Operations. You serve as a senior technical authority, driving innovation and ensuring the robustness of Fidelity's digital asset infrastructure across EVM, Solana, and Cosmos SDK platforms.

What you'll do

• Architect and oversee the development of blockchain-based systems and smart contracts across EVM, Solana, and Cosmos SDK platforms
• Lead technical design and implementation of crypto infrastructure, including secure deployment pipelines, testing frameworks, and audit processes
• Conduct deep technical reviews and audits of smart contracts, ensuring security, scalability, and compliance with DeFi standards
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, protocols, and tooling to enhance Fidelity's digital asset capabilities
• Serve as a technical liaison across engineering, trading, and risk teams to ensure seamless integration of blockchain systems into core workflows
• Drive the design and implementation of tokenization frameworks, on-chain asset lifecycle management, and cross-chain interoperability solutions
• Lead evaluation and integration of DeFi protocols, staking infrastructure, liquidity solutions, and institutional-grade custody platforms
• Establish best practices for blockchain security, smart contract governance, protocol monitoring, threat detection, and incident response

What you bring

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in blockchain engineering, smart contract development, or crypto infrastructure with a strong track record of technical delivery
• Deep understanding of EVM/SVM architecture, token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, SPL), and DeFi primitives
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages including Python, Solidity, and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with smart contract frameworks and tools such as Hardhat and Foundry
• Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and mentor senior engineers in a collaborative, high-performance environment
• Hands-on experience with Solana development concepts including Anchor Framework, SPL token integrations, Program Derived Addresses (PDAs), and Cross-Program Invocations (CPIs)
• Strong knowledge of DeFi ecosystems including AMMs, lending protocols, liquid staking, yield generation, oracle networks, and tokenization platforms
• Expertise in smart contract security reviews, threat modeling, protocol risk assessments, and secure software development practices for institutional digital asset products

• Base salary of $140,000-$285,000 USD per year, with placement varying based on job responsibilities, scope, geographic location, relevant experience, and other factors
