Junior Trader – Multi-Asset (Equities, Derivatives & Crypto)

As a Junior Trader - Multi-Asset at Syz Group, you will join the Trading team and gain hands-on exposure to global financial markets from day one. You will progressively develop your trading expertise across Equities, ETFs, Futures, Options, Listed Structured Products and Crypto-related instruments while learning how to deliver best execution to private banking clients. Beyond trading activities, you will contribute to initiatives involving automation, data analytics, Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation.

What you'll do

• Learn the fundamentals of professional trading and best execution alongside experienced market professionals
• Gain exposure to Equities, ETFs, Futures, Options, Listed Structured Products, IPOs, Crypto ETPs and other exchange-traded instruments
• Participate in the execution lifecycle from order intake to market execution and post-trade monitoring
• Monitor financial markets and contribute insights on market developments, opportunities and trading trends
• Build relationships with Relationship Managers, brokers, exchanges, counterparties and Direct Access clients
• Progressively take ownership of client order execution as your expertise and autonomy grow
• Learn how traders source liquidity and interact with market participants to achieve optimal outcomes for clients
• Contribute to projects related to trading technology, execution platforms and workflow optimisation
• Explore and implement innovative solutions leveraging AI, automation and data analytics
• Work closely with Trading, Operations and IT teams to develop more efficient and scalable processes
• Challenge existing ways of working and contribute ideas that improve the client and trader experience

What you bring

• A university degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a related field
• Basic knowledge of equity markets, ETFs, Futures and Options
• Interest in financial markets and crypto-assets
• Notions of the private banking environment and regulatory framework
• Good understanding of client service and willingness to develop client relationship skills
• Analytical skills and ability to work with data
• Bilingual French and English, both written and spoken
• Strong user level in all common IT tools and good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
• Passion for financial markets and eagerness to build a career in Trading
• Curiosity, entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to learn
• Comfort using technology and excitement about innovation
• Analytical thinking combined with sound judgement
• Resilience and ability to remain focused in fast-moving market environments

Nice to have

• A first experience such as an internship, apprenticeship or up to 1-2 years in a bank, broker or financial institution (trading, middle-office, back-office or sales)
• Exposure to exchange-traded products, electronic trading, crypto-assets, or workflow automation
• Additional languages beyond French and English
• Knowledge of programming in R or Python
• Knowledge of Bloomberg (training will be provided)
• Experience with execution platforms such as Bloomberg EMSX, TSOX, TradingScreen or similar
