Senior Brand Designer (Maternity Cover)

As a Senior Brand Designer at Blockchain, you'll join the creative team on a temporary maternity cover contract. You'll work across a broad range of creative projects, helping shape how Blockchain.com looks, feels and communicates across digital and physical touchpoints. This is a hands-on role for someone with outstanding visual instincts, meticulous attention to detail and a genuine passion for making beautiful, thoughtful work.

What you'll do

• Design and execute high-quality creative assets across brand, marketing, digital products, web, social, presentations and other brand touchpoints.
• Collaborate on the visual design and user experience of the Blockchain.com app and website, bringing a strong brand perspective to product interfaces and digital journeys.
• Use photography, image selection, art direction, cropping, composition and retouching to create compelling, sophisticated visual experiences.
• Create designs that feel refined and intentional, with an understanding of negative space, visual hierarchy, restraint and the power of a limited colour palette.
• Bring exceptional understanding of typography, from type selection and hierarchy to spacing, proportion and the finer details of execution.
• Produce digital graphics, campaign assets and visual compositions, with the ability to incorporate subtle animation or motion where it adds value.
• Maintain an exceptional standard of craft by sweating the details, challenging average execution and ensuring everything feels considered and beautifully finished.
• Work closely with designers, marketers, product teams and other stakeholders to turn briefs into visually compelling, effective creative work.

What you bring

• A strong portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual taste and execution.
• Significant experience in brand design, visual design or art direction, with the ability to work confidently at a senior level.
• A sophisticated, contemporary design sensibility, ideally with experience creating work for premium, luxury, editorial, lifestyle or technology brands.
• An excellent eye for photography, composition, lighting, imagery and visual storytelling.
• Deep expertise in typography, layout, hierarchy, colour and visual balance.
• A natural instinct for simplicity and restraint, knowing when to take something away rather than add something more.
• Strong proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• Experience creating digital assets and designing for websites, apps and responsive environments.
• An extremely high level of attention to detail, combined with the ability to work efficiently across multiple projects.
• A proactive, self-directed approach where you take ownership and move things forward without needing extensive direction.
• A collaborative, low-ego mindset and genuine enthusiasm for creating great work alongside other talented people.

Nice to have

• Motion design or animation skills, particularly subtle, elegant animation of 2D assets.
