As a Senior Visual Designer at OKX, you join the Visual System Team, responsible for how OKX looks and feels across every product surface, including mobile and web. You work at the intersection of brand expression and product design, crafting the visual layer that makes OKX products feel distinctive, coherent, and trusted. You shape how features are visually conceived early in the process, integrate brand moments into product flows, and help visual systems scale across an ecosystem of products used by millions. This is a hybrid onsite position in the Bay Area, CA.
What you'll do
- Design high-quality visual and UI experiences for OKX products across trading, wallet, payments, and social features, owning the visual execution from concept through to pixel-perfect delivery while balancing beauty with clarity in a domain where trust and usability are essential.
- Contribute to OKX's visual systems, including shared illustration styles, motion tokens, color systems, iconography, layout patterns, UI components, and design tokens, strengthening the system through reusable, scalable assets and patterns.
- Translate brand direction into in-product visual experiences by working with the Brand Design team to ensure visual identity consistency from marketing to core product while adapting thoughtfully to product goals, user needs, and performance metrics.
- Create engaging visual experiences for in-product campaigns, launches, and feature moments that feel distinctive and expressive while remaining native to the product experience and aligned with the broader brand.
- Actively integrate AI into your daily design workflow using generative tools for ideation, exploration, variation, prototyping, and asset production, experimenting with AI-assisted workflows and bringing what works back to the team.
- Partner with product designers, engineers, and product managers to ensure visual design decisions are grounded in user needs and technically feasible, participating in design reviews and communicating your rationale clearly.
- Propose creative concepts to team leads and stakeholders, articulating the reasoning behind visual choices and why they are the right solution for the user and the brand.
What you bring
- 4-6 years of experience in visual design, UI design, a digital-focused role within a brand team, or a related discipline, with a portfolio demonstrating strong craft, modern taste, and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to take product experiences from wireframes to polished, production-ready UI, understanding how visual design supports usability, hierarchy, trust, product goals, and measurable outcomes.
- Strong UI and digital design fundamentals across product, responsive web, and mobile experiences, with mobile-first expertise essential.
- Exceptional visual craft across typography, color, composition, layout, interaction, and detail, with a clear point of view and thoughtful design decisions that separate good from great.
- Experience creating or contributing to scalable design systems, understanding tokens, components, patterns, and how to create a coherent visual language across a product.
- Ability to work at the intersection of brand and product, translating brand direction into product experiences that meet user and business needs while leaving room for distinctive product expression.
- Active use of generative AI tools for ideation, exploration, prototyping, and production, with strong creative judgment to refine outputs rather than rely on unedited generated assets.
- Clear, collaborative communication skills to articulate design rationale and work effectively with product designers, engineers, product managers, and Brand Design.
- Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools, with the ability to communicate interaction and motion intent through high-fidelity prototypes.
Nice to have
- Experience creating light animation.
- Experience with 3D software or a genuine willingness to learn.
- Experience designing for fintech, crypto, or trading platforms, understanding the visual language of trust, precision, and data density.
- Strong skills in visual illustration and interaction ideation, enabling you to create original visual assets rather than just compose them.
- An exceptional eye for layout, composition, and hierarchy, turning ideas into clear, high-quality visual solutions quickly and decisively.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment while balancing speed with a high bar for craft and attention to detail.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams across offices and time zones.
- Familiarity with how visual design integrates with front-end implementation, understanding CSS, design tokens, and component architecture well enough to collaborate effectively with engineers.
